caps on tubes
A gripper mounted on a measuring apparatus is to be used to fit tubes with caps, whose intrinsic weight must not be included in the measurement. The gripper must position, snap-fit and finally twist the cap securely in place. The load cell is fitted in the tool such that it is initially protected against axial overload while also being fully protected against lateral forces loads arising from imprecise centring, weight effects or accelerations on the pivoted fixing unit. The measurement must reproduce the short snap-fitting event reliably. Decoupling the mechanical connection prevents any torque transfer to the axis of the load cell.
